Video Title

A Fool Of A Cook

Category

Cooking & Food

Hook

Lord of the Rings theme in the background and myself dressed as a hobbit. Talking about not knowing how to cook and wanting to learn - meme "fool of a took" with the T crossed out and a C over the top.

High Level Video Summary

For the first set of videos, I'd like to focus on cooking foods in LOTR series (bread, seed-cakes, buttered scones, mead, foods with different types of potatoes, etc). My first video will focus on making lembas bread. It will be a follow-along recipe, and I'll end with a finishing phrase like "Now it's time for elevensies" or "shoot, I'm hungry again".

Detailed Video Script

This will be my first video and will set the tone of the channel. I'm a huge Lord of the Rings fan so I'd like to lean into that while learning how to cook.

Target Audience

Cooking fans, movie fans, those learning how to cook, LARPers

Strategic value to your channel

It's a unique idea and LOTR is a classic series that is still beloved. Role-playing is a fun activity that many engage with and as a cooking channel, LOTR fits surprisingly well. Once I run out of recipes from LOTR I can focus on either variations, make meals based on places in the world, etc. There's lots of room to grow.

Do you mean do some bad recipes and play them up? I wanted to show off good recipes that others could replicate but I could also ham it up by trying ingredients

This is one of those ideas where the theme is strong enough that the main risk is not the concept, it's the first-video framing. LOTR plus beginner cooking is a real hook because it gives you both fandom and accessibility. The part I'd tighten is making sure the first upload promises one very specific viewer experience. Right now it reads as recipe + roleplay + meme energy + beginner cooking. That can work, but for a first video I'd pick the lead promise more clearly. If I were sharpening it, I'd focus on three things: 1. Make the thumbnail-title package scream one idea, probably "I cooked lembas bread like a Hobbit" rather than a broader channel concept. 2. Decide whether the first upload is mainly a fun fandom video or mainly a genuinely useful follow-along recipe. 3. Make the intro payoff fast so viewers instantly understand the costume and LOTR framing is part of the entertainment, not just decoration. The good news is the strategic value is real. There is room to build a repeatable series here if each upload anchors itself in a recognizable fandom hook first and cooking second. What matters most for version one is making the first click feel obvious. If someone sees it in their feed, what exact promise are they saying yes to?
